  1. this can be fix in the receiver look for an option like lip-sync or something similar, and if you have an HDTV receiver and an HDTV display you are not doing anything with a RCA connection like (red, white and yellow) maybe the HDMI will not fix the audio/video delay that it probably caused by the signal delay but it sure would look awesome on a HDTV television.

beside that lip-sync is a common problem in satellite and more in hd channels.

  2. What is happening is the Audio and Video are "out of sync" and so you have "latency" between the sound and picture.

Is the video from the Dishnet receiver going straight to your TV while the audio is going to the Onkyo?

It's possible that some channels have this problem and others do not - if this is the case and you find out that switching channels changes the problem, then it's coming from the "feed" to your DIshnet receiver and nothing you can do will correct it - the Folks at the "head end" will have to fix it.

If all channels from the Dishnet do the same thing, then there's "latency" between your Video and Audio, and that could be caused by running the audio to the Onkyo while the video goes to the TV.

If you're running video and audio to the Onkyo and from there to the TV Set, then it may be fixed by hooking up your Dish net box by HDMI.

    Good luck!
