The veteran http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 defender has admitted that there has been good progress this season and is hopeful that the side will be more competitive next season
The Reds played a 0-0 draw against Everton in their most recent English Premier League clash at Anfield. The side has been inconsistent all season and has failed to get three points on a regular basis. They are currently in seventh
place on the English Premier League standings table behind the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.
Carragher, who is set to retire at the end of the season, claimed that the side has progressed well this season and is satisfied with the results. The defender stated that it was a difficult start to the campaign as the club failed
to get the players they wanted in the summer transfer window.
He stated that Liverpool played with young players for the first half of the campaign and the results started to come.
“Looking at the season I think if you remember the start it was difficult with the transfer window situation. From the start we had a lot of young lads in there and it wasn't easy. The second half of the season there has been more
experience and the manager has implemented his ideas more and you can see that in results in and around January-February time we went on a decent run,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Carragher added that the January transfer window proved to be fruitful for the club as they signed the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philippe-Coutinho-c29936, who have both turned out to be successful signings.
“The manager made a couple of signings [striker Daniel Sturridge and midfielder Philippe Coutinho] in January which gave us a boost so we're showing positive signs but we have to take it into next season,” he concluded.
Liverpool will be taking on Fulham in their next Premier League game this weekend at Craven Cottage. The side will be looking to get all three points against the Londoners.
