..fairly new vw jetta need these 2 items, i.e. a starter and a new battery? Especially at the same time? I think this guy sounds kinda fishy? what would u do it u had to drive to work tomorrow, i'm so confused, pls help!

  4. As long as the battery holds a charge and the starter turns the motor over without staying engaged, you don't need either.

  5. a battery can go bad prematurely based on its operating conditions, if a battery is used in a very hot envyroment, which is very easy on a small car or in hot weather, battery electrolyte will evaporate , exposing the electrode plates and causing the cells to go bad. to prevent this, always park your car in the shade whenever possible, and check the electrolite level at least every two weeks , never allow the battery charge to run down all the way since recharging form deep discharge will heat up the battery.
