I would like to know the pronunciation for the term labaro or sometimes spelled libero. It is a defensive specialist position in a volleyball match.

  1. it's pronounced both Lee-bare-o

    and lee-bro...

    i think both are correct

    i usually go with lee-bare-o

  4. theres 2 different ways to pronounce it... lebero: lee-bro or libero: li(as in live)-bear-oh

  5. i have heard it pronounced two different ways but here are both of them for u anyway

    labaro

    Le(the upside down e sound)

    bar(round rod/place alcohol is served)this is the stressed sylable

    oh

    OR

    li(short i sound)

    bare   this is the stressed sylable

    oh

    & LEE-BER-OH<<<--- sounds kinda dumb

  7. libero is the correct term. The most common pronunciation is (lebero) but according to the old womens national coach the correct pronunciation is (LEEbro). either one you get the point across though. :)

  9. ok its libero...thats the defensive player who wears the different colored jersey and plays defense all through the rotations.  its a free sub.  and it pronounced  luh-bear-O

    its the position #6 which is right after the server in the back row in the middle and they r the 1s who dig (dive) all the balls that r low 2 the ground... that is the busiest position in volleyball because they are right in the middle of everything
