  1. I think it just mean Farewell.


  2. The term is Farewell and it just means goodbye, not necessarily goodbye forever.  Farewell now means goodbye now.

  3. It does mean goodbye, but it also means to fare well, as in hoping you live well.

    It is like the word breakfast, which originally meant to break your fasting and later developed into the single word breakfast.
