Question:

The theory of wormholes and the folding universe ?

I am studying physics. I have a question (nothing really to do with my physics). Alright, me personally, I believe the universe is infinate, a geometrical plane stretched in all directions. But, some theories believe it is folded, like a folded cloth. And some people think this might explain (and prove) wormholes could exist. And it makes sense if the universe is folded, wormholes existing. But my question has nothing to do with the theory of wormholes really. My question is how do they get the evidence for this? I realize we think to have proven that our galaxy spirals, thus proving the universe does. What would be between those folds in the universe?

Oh, and the wormholes and such in the title were more to catch your attention to answer this question. If you research and like to talk about wormholes, most likely you would have read the theories of how they could exist. This is basically like a protestant asking a catholic why they pray to mary. I dont believe it, but want to understand why people do. And to get peoples thoughts on it.

  1. Nobody can be sure in the actual state of art that wormhole exist. until recently the leading theory was string theory but no there are somme doubts.

I recommend you a book that i read a week ago PHYSICS OF THE IMPOSSIBLE of Michio Kaku which is clear and gives you a view of the last discoveries
