Not true but delightful to watch. The movie was based on fact but they took liberties to entertain us as well.

This has been asked and answered before ...

ROSE AND JACK were not real ... However during the production of the movie it became apparent that there had been a JACK of that name on the ship ...BUT IT WAS PURELY COINCIDENCE....

The first answer you have recieved is totally incorrect as the character ROSE is fictional .. . SHE NEVER EXISTED apart from the movie.

One reason why I really loathe Hollywood playing around with REAL EVENTS .... because too many people then believe THAT is the way it really happened...

Other than the ship sinking, it was complete fiction. The events on the ship were invented to make a better story. In fact they ignored or changed many historical details to make the story more dramatic.

sory to disappoint, but the love story part is fictional, it is only the events and some of the crew and passengers that were historicallly accurate.
