Question:

The tooth a got a root canal for has started to bother me... should I see a dentist?

I got a root canal about a year ago, and I didn't have any problems until now. Last week I went to see a (really awful) dentist who did a lot of digging around in between my teeth with some tools. Now my tooth hurts and I feel as though something might have gotten stuck within the crown. Should I see a new dentist? Do you think I have any action against the other one, if they did in fact cause this problem?

  1. Yes my dad is a dentist and says if a tooth is bothering you you need to get a dentist.

  2. Do you have a choice?

There are a lot of 'not so good' dentists and finding one that is good AND you are comfortable with can be difficult.

No work on your teeth is going to last forever.

  3. u should in fact talk to your doctor and see whats up if they did any perminant injury to your teeth swith a dentists and take legal action u should really go see a dentist about it i know someone who had that happen to them and it ended up being a piece of food stuck in their teeth they told me it was very painfull and annoying i hope it is not bothering u to much. they will probably be able to fix the problem just ask them here is a link from wikapedia hope it helps good luck!

  4. Definitely. I also got a root canal too so I know how you feel. If you got a root canal, you shouldn't be able to feel anything since they cut off your nerves. But there are occasional sensitiveness like drinking really cold water and such. If a dentist dug around your teeth, then you should definitely check it. You might have gotten infection.

  5. Yes most definitely see another dentist

  6. the nerves are removed during a root canal.  It shouldn't hurt at all.  You could be starting an infection under the tooth.  You should see a dentist, but I'm not sure it was the dentist you just saw's fault

  7. I would call a dentist and ask for their advice.  They are the trained professionals.

  8. yes - you should never have problems with a root canal because they took out the nerve. You technically shouldn't geel anything because of that, so you definitely should go see a dentist.

  9. Definitely I Had To Get Root Canal Treatment And Not Only Was It painful For A Week But It Was Expensive You Should Get It Fixed Before It Reaches The Root

  10. Yes, i would go see a dentist if it's been a week and the irritation has continued. As for action, could talking to them, and maybe getting your money suffice? They may not concur to do it, but you never know. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  11. you should defiantly go see a dentist whether its the same one or a different one. sometimes dentists can really seem mean or look like they don't know what they are doing. if you really feel that that dentist did hurt your tooth more than go see a new one but still you should defiantly go see one.
