  1. 1. Penn State

    2. Michigan

    3. USC

    4. LSU

    5. Ohio State

    no particular order

  2. 1) Penn State - # of undefeated seasons (the polls hate them, they've gone undefeated twice and with one loss a bunch of times where they weren't given the #1 spot...and even still they have 3 national titles), JoePa (2nd, soon to be 1st, winningest coach in NCAA football history), winning percentage (especially in bowl games), academics success of athletes, amount of great NFL players they've produced, biggest, loudest stadium & fan-base in the league, etc, etc, etc. They represent everything that's right about college football.

    2) Michigan - Don't like em', but they are the the program with the most wins, hands down. Gotta give that to em'

    3) Nebraska - Don't care for the huskers either, but yeah, they're (or, "they were") a classic, powerhouse  program.

    4) USC - for the sheer amount of great NFL players they've turned out

    5) OSU

  3. 1. OU

    2. Alabama

    3. Notre Dame

    4. Michigan

    5. USC

  4. 1. Alabama

    2. Notre Dame

    3. Michigan (By the way, UM is Ole Miss to me, Michigan is the only program I can figure you're trying to say)

    4. Southern Cal (USC is South Carolina around here)

    5. Oklahoma

    Changed Oklahoma for Ohio State.

Milkshake- Funny you should mention that about SEC teams' behavior when Penn State, your #1, has had more arrested players than some entire conferences by itself this year.  Maybe you should rethink your entire list.

Milkshake- I'm sick of seeing that academic stuff.  The fact is, the SEC has the highest academic requirements of any conference in the country.  One of the reasons smaller schools like Southern Miss have had success is they pick up players who couldn't make it academically in the SEC.

  5. That is a tough one. There are a bunch of teams you could put up there, and give legit reasons why they should be.

    1 ND

    2 UM

    3 USC

    4 Alabama

    5 OU

after that, you have 5 or 6 schools that tie for 6th imo, including OSU, Nebraska, Texas and Tennessee.

  6. michigan

    usc

    notre dame

    nebraska

    bama

osu could be mentioned there too.

  7. For the h**l of it, I'm gonna make my list based on number of national championships, and since your question states "of all time", I found a list for all CONSENSUS champions since 1869.  Yes, these are all in Division 1, some before the split, some after.  All of the teams' championships were won at a time when they were part of THE major college football division:

    1. Yale - 18 Championships

    2. Princeton - 15 Championships

    3. Notre Dame - 13 Championships

    4. Alabama - 10 Championships

    5. USC - 9 Championships

  8. 'Bama

The love for that team in unlike anything that I have ever seen....

They might not be the powerhouse that they use to be - but they're a historical team.  Plus, the SEC is the most dominant conference out there.  I live in SoCal and the no one can hold a candle to the SEC.
