That depends on what kind of psychology you are looking at. If you are just thinking of getting a bachelor's degree, it really doesnt matter all too much. Some schools will differ as to whether they tend to focus on psychology as a social science or natural science, but other than that, they are essentially equal.

The major distinction comes when you are starting to look at graduate schools. Each specific area of psychology has its own universities that are considered the best. However, you are better off then to chose a school based on the subject and type of research done there rather than its rating. Sure, Yale is an excellent school as far as social psychology is concerned, however, if your interests lie in the effects of media on behavior, for example, you are better off aiming for a school like The University of Michigan, where one of the more prominent figures in that area teaches.

You also have to consider that certain things are valued in psychology depending on where in the world you are. If you were to study in Vienna, for example, you would likely find Freud's psychoanalysis featured much more prominently than if you were to go to Stanford. This is simply because different regions tend to adhere to different systems and views on how psychology should be performed.

Essentially, it's really impossible to say what exactly are the top universities in the world to study it, because that will differ from person to person depending on their personal contexts.
