The top of my pecan pie crusts always get too brown, what can I do to stop it from doing this?

  1. Cover it loosely with tinfoil until the last 12-15 minutes

    You can cover the entire pie with tin foil for the last 10 minutes of baking. If it is just the crusts which are darkening you can make a foil ring to place(cover) on the edges of your pie crust.

    There are also pre-made (pie shield) tin rings that sit on the outside edges of your crust that prevent them from getting to dark or burning.
