Is AROUND or ON, grammatically better in the sentence? i thought around was better.. .but my friend says on.

  3. it's on.  Something that is centered (in the middle) can't also go around (revolve)

  5. Convo - did nobody tell you that is not a real word? It's "converstation". The word you need, in this instance, is "around". The whole sentence does sound slightly awkward however. Try a different construction, something like: "The central topic of the conversation was her desire for dress designs."
