There is still tread left, but I can't change them right now. Could I drive a day without changing them or do I risk having a blow out?

  1. If the metal isn't sticking out you are fine. On dry pavement the tread doesn't mean anything ie. nascar, they run on slick tires.   Everything changes if it's raining.  You will have a propensity to spin if the road is wet.

If you are checking the tires for metal feel around the inside edges.  If it hs ever been out of line you often get wear on the inside that you cannot see.

  2. drive as little as possible and go slow.get new tires asap.

  3. Tread depth does not make a tire more likely to blow out, the tread gives you traction on wet or unstable surfaces.

Race cars run slick tires because the surfaces they drive on are dry and more rubber on the ground equals more traction.

In other words the risk you are accepting if you drive the car is decreased traction on slippery or unstable surfaces, not a blowout. I don't know where you live but where I am is dry this time of year.

A blowout risk exists when the cord of the tire becomes exposed to the road, if you still have any amount of visible tread you have no more chance of a blowout than a new tire.

Driving another day will be no riskier than than it was 2 months ago before your tires were worn to this point.

    Good Luck!
