Is there a difference if you run or walk on a treadmill indoors vs running or walking outside? Which is the best? Thanks ahead of time.

  1. Personally, I like running around a pond or lake because of the change in scenery.

But my mother always told me a treadmill was more complex than just running outside.

I'm not sure if that's really the case, maybe you should check google.

    Hope I helped :)

  2. I think there's a mental component - Running is a very mental sport, so when it feels hard or boring, it will be. Working out on a treadmill is way harder for me because it's tedious and monotonous so I feel like quitting earlier, thus my workout isn't as good. I always feel like I get more out of running outdoors, but going on a treadmill is better than no exercising at all. :)

  3. Running on a treadmill is boring so stick with outside.

  4. I prefer running outside because I like to feel that I'm actually going somewhere. When I'm on a treadmill, it's pretty much running in place and I get bored because it feels like i'm getting nowhere, and not very quickly. Outside, there's fresh air, and the occasional traffic break at a stoplight, which helps if you get tired. The plus sides of a treadmill are that it's the level so you don't need to worry about hills or unlevel ground, and if it's raining you can be inside where it's warm. And there's not a great risk of getting hit by a car if you live in a big city area. It's pretty much up to you though. You should try both and see which you prefer. Somedays you might feel like sticking indoors so you can hop on a treadmill, or maybe you want to run outside and get some air. Either way.

  5. outside owns the treadmill. Treadmills suck!
