The tricky tri for the ‘ ‘ Roy Seven ’ ‘ Rated Race - He’s Got Rhythm, Battle Of Saratoga and Lord Jim
He’s Got Rhythm, Battle Of Saratoga and Lord Jim are three of those who are racing the ‘ ‘ Roy Seven ’ ‘ Rated Race right after posting a victory. The race will be held over seven furlongs on Thursday, 19th July at Leopardstown. Competing for the €5,520 prize money besides them are three other three-year and above runners.
Holy Roman Emperor’s three-year-old bay colt, Lord Jim, has raced five times during the new season and won in just the very recent one. He cleared his maiden through the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden on 8th July, 2012 at Bellewstown over a mile.
The favourite winner traced the leaders. By the half mile, he ranked second and found it difficult to break from the crowd that he got stuck in just when the final furlong was approaching. With jockey, C O’Donoghue riding, the pair defeated the runner-up, Jpevie, by 2 ¼ lengths.
The sixth outing of the P. J. Prendergast trained will find himself guided through the distance by jockey, C. O' Donoghue, after taking off from the second gate.
Dylan Thomas’ Battle Of Saratoga is another entry who broke free from the maiden just recently. The three-year-old bay colt won the 8th July Beach Party At Limerick Races Maiden on 22nd June, 2012 at Limerick race course over a mile. Surprisingly, he enjoyed the success with the same jockey, C O’Donoghue, as had his rival, Lord Jim.
The colt from the stables of the trainer, Aidan O’Brien, stormed through the track distance right after leaving the second stall and went on to monopolise from two furlongs out and then led through the final furlong, winning by the margin of 3 ½ lengths.
He will break from the fifth gate with stable jockey, Joseph O’Brien, to guide.
He’s Got Rhythm, trained by David Marnane, is another entry who has tossed victory on the record recently. The seven-year-old Irish bay gelding won the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Claiming Race on 12th July, 2012 at the Dundalk race course over seven furlongs.
Invincible Spirit’s gelding defeated Invincible Soul by a length while coupled with jockey, Danny Mullins.
Filling up the third slot behind the winner was, Shukhov.
