The trunk of my Plymouth Breeze won't open

Question

I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze. There's a latch on the drivers side on the floor that you pull that opens the trunk of the car. I tried pulling that latch to open the trunk and its loose and the trunk won't open, and I really need to get it open. What can I do?
