if any of you had doubts about mma being fixed now is the time to voice your opinions?? kimbo vs thompson i like both fighters probably kimbo more than thompson, cause of you tube, i like many watched the fight and have to say thompson was kicking kimbos BUTT all over the place, kimbo could hardly get up after rnd 2, come rnd 3 ref stops the fight due to a cut ear, iv never in my life seen a ref stop a fight due to a cut ear (tyson-hollyfield still carried on) if blood is going into a fighters eyes then yes but a cut ear?????? elitexc new thompson was going to beat kimbo after the 2nd rnd and had to do something drastic so kimbo would win, yeah thompson was doing the chicken dance a few times through the fight but he was fighting back and defending so wasnt out.. come on guys be real in wot you reply with look at the fighters and most of all belive in what you see.

Most MMA orgs are not fixed, including UFC which is the biggest and best one atm. As for kimbo, he is a joke and wont last against real comp. He talks a mean game and even called chuck out but anyone who knows MMA knows chuck would crush him easily! Also this is only his 3rd real fight, so we will need to be patient and give him some time to see how he develops. He has outstanding power, but as we seen his cardio sux!

yea Elite looked fixed in the kimbo fight.....at some point i couldn't tell if Thompson was that bad and couldn't finish Slice or he was a bad ACTOR....seemed like he was letting kimbo openly hit him at the end......im still all for Kimbo since this is only his 3rd fight......he def. needs more cardio

I wonder how Thompson got hurt before the fight? And why kimbo can just lay there getting hit and the fight isn't called.

Not ALL of MMA is fixed, usually just Elite, lol.

The ref SHOULD have called it when Thompson was raining elbows since Kimbo was NOT defending himself (which by the RULES, is a DQ loss), but they didn't.

I do not like Kimbo, never have; and idiots like him just make the whole sport look bad.

But I would lay very good money to see him and Bas Rutten fight, lol!

Fixed?  please, did you pay attention to the fight at all?  When Thompson had kimbo on the ground at the end of the 2nd round, he had no power in his hits, most of the blows were glancing off of Kimbo's head.  The ref new this and let it go.  Kimbo was in no way in trouble at that point. He got hit with a couple of elbows, but there was nothing behind them.  Thompson was not kicking Kimbo's butt.  He had Kimbo on the ground about 6 times, of which Kimbo got out of 3 of them.  There's a huge difference between getting someone on the ground, and pulling a Tito Ortiz on them.  On the ground yes, damage.. little.   That's one of the reasons the judges had such a hard time scoring the fight.   And the fight was NOT stopped because Thompsons ear was cut.. it was because Kimbo busted him with 4 straight unanswered shots, BIG hits.. and his arms went to his side... I agree that the fight should have been left to go on, but it was OBVIOUS that Thompson was about to get hurt.

You people are crazy. Kimbo is just starting in the sport and neither him, or any members of his camp are claiming that he is a top level fighter. He is very humble and gracious in all of his interviews and says, loud and clear everytime, that he still has much to learn. JamesThompson isn't top level, but he is definitely no joke. He has fought in all of the major organizations and was a huge step up for Kimbo in only his 3rd MMA fight. He got taken down several times and was able to guard effectively and eventually escape. I give the referee much credit for not stopping the fight when Thompson had him down at the end of the round. Kimbo didn't have a single mark on his face, so obviously those shots were doing no damage, and there are way too many stoppages in MMA just because a guy starts throwing wild punches and elbows. Yeah, he gased a little bit, but that can be expected in only his third MMA fight. The guy hits like a freight train and NOBODY can deny that!! He rocked Thompson several times and his face was all busted up!! Before the stoppage Kimbo landed four unanswered blows directly to Thompsons face and he was visibly out on his feet. He was asked in a post fight interview why he took a swipe at the referee and he said " I was completely out of it, I didn't even know who it was". You people should really get your facts straight before you go spilling garbage out of your mouths!! He's got a long way to go ( he'll admit it himself), but so far, so good. He's got  good standup, a good camp and a ton of potential. Bas Rutten is one of the top 10 MMA fighters of all-time, do you really think the guy doesn't know what he's doing??

You are right. Thompson had a retarded looking expression on his face every time he got hit in the head, starting in round 1. His expression didn't look any different when he got hit in round 3, he just had a real ugly, bloody cauliflower ear. Of course XC couldn't let Kimbo lose. He's one of their main meal tickets. I saw some of the clip of him fighting Tank Abott. Abott looked like he was just pried off a barstool and led to the cage. XC is being real careful about the bums they put in front of Kimbo, but they almost blew it tonight, hence the quick stoppage by the ref. If you wanted any more proof that Kimbo is more media creation than fighter, just look at some of the posts on here about how great Kimbo is, even after seeing him look like a bum against a bum who, according to some other people who have posted tonight, lost 7 of his last 9 fights. Kimbo was totally gassed after 2 rounds. Imagine if he had been in there against any of a number of decent MMA heavyweights tonight. He would have gotten his *** handed to him. Will he improve? maybe. But he has a long way to go, in spite of all the adulation he gets from the UTube generation.

EliteXC is fixed , you are a smart to see that. First off all Kimbo didnt even hurt Jame's ear , he popped a colfower ear , I CANT BELIEVE THEY STOPED IT FOR THAT! In the UFC people have holes through their face  (kurt perligrino) and keep fighting , they get a broken arm and keep fighting ( Randy Couture) They get a fractured rib and keep fighting! ( BJ Penn) . And wtf was up with tonight lol embarrasment to mma , Ouch u poked me in the eye with ur pinky  , so the doctor gets to stop the fight! wtf! and oh you basically poped a big zit on my ear, and now the fight has to stop. both stoppages where bullshit , both fighters where furious that they lost  , and both fighters that lost had PLENTY of fight left in them.

YES ELITE XC IS THE ONLY FIXED MMA BRAND THAT IS FIXED SO FAR.  Gary Shaw the fat b*****d decided to fake that kimbo vs. BO cantrell fight. Well he realised us MMA fans are allot smarter than he gives us credit for. So he decided to pick a can for kimbo to knock out tonight , but then Gary shaw noticed his gold egg laying hen was in trouble so the Crocked as* reff was told to stop the fight and give a (TKO) victor to kimbo. Not even a cut or doctors stopage. FCK ELITE XC AND FCK KIMBO , haha did u see the look of fear and defeat in kimbos eyes after that fight he was all "oh man so this is what a fair fight feels like!?"

This fight was a disgraceful attempt by EliteXC to make a splash on prime time.  Ferguson may make a wonderful cinderella story, but horrible as an example of quality MMA.

EliteXC in their quest to be the first to hit prime time hit a new low, disgracing MMA and all martial arts in general.  Why they did it...short run money.  The owners of EliteXC should be made to fight in an octagon in front of a crowd of angry spectators, beaten upon by Brock Lesnar, Randy Couture and Keith Jardine until the crowd is satisfied with a thumbs up or thumbs down.

This show damaged the sport for all.

HE WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE TO FIGHT AFTER THE PUNCH TO HIS EAR AND FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL PUNCHES TO THE FACE, NECK AND CHIN. THOMPSON EVEN WENT AFTER THE REFEREE. THOMPSON WAS IN A DAZE. HE WAS OUT OF IT. IN THE FIGHT WORLD WE CALL THAT A T.K.O. AGAIN I SAY WHAT FIGHT WERE YOU WATCHING? DON'T BE A HATER YOUR WHOLE LIFE. THOMPSON IS A GREAT FIGHTER BUT IF I RECALL CORRECTLY, HE WAS AT A 2 FOR 2 LOSS BEFORE THE FIGHT. MAKING HIM 16-10 NOW THAT HE WAS DEFEATED BY KIMBO SLICE LAST NIGHT. THIS GUY NEEDS TO FOCUS ON WINNING MORE FIGHTS BEFORE HE COULD BE CONSIDER A ELITE FIGHTER AGAIN. WHILE KIMBO SLICE RECORDS STANDS AT 3-0 AFTER HIS DEBUT FIGHT LAST NIGHT AGAINGST THOMPSON. Although I didn't like the results of the fight, I wouldn't say it was fixed. What I saw was Thompsons eyes rolling into the back of the head after getting pounded in the face over and over by Kimbo. The ref had to step in because Thompson could no  longer defend himself properly.

Even in PRIDE, which was considered one of the best MMA organizations, the refs would sometimes stop the fight if one of the fighters was dazed but not necessarily knocked out cold.
