Question:

The twins are ready to get potty trained but I need advise?

I'm a mom of twins. They are almost 4-month-old now. I waited up to now because they were born premature and I wanted them to grow up a little. Now I'm ready to start the potty training. I noticed they are actually signaling when they need to go. My intuition also tells me when they need to go - I know my daughters very well. I talked to a few mothers and they warned me not to wait longer because the best age is from birth to around 4-5 months. I don't want to miss it and have my babies get dirty in diapers until they are 2-3yo which is ridiculous in my opinion. Could you give me some tips and useful ideas about potty training two babies at the same time? Someone who has done it with two, could you advise me something?

  1. I answered you in the other post, but let me do it again :-)

The only advice I could give you is - watch them for the signals. All the other you as a mom know :-) good luck and I'm proud of you - another sensible parent who doesn't follow dr Bazelton's crazy ideas, as you say :-)

All my children (they are 8 from age 1 to age 17) were potty trained before they could even walk. We never knew diapers after that.

  2. I think those mothers you talked to are having a joke to see if you are silly enough to fall for it.  Potty training at 4 - 5 months??  Who are they kidding, or what are they taking?

  3. This is a joke right? No... well I think your crazy. If they can't walk to a potty then they're too young. Good Luck.

Edit: Now that I've read that link, not only do i think you're crazy, i think that the person who wrote it is crazy. Also, reading your answers to other questions, pretending to be raped it just weird. And your a mother of twins! Again. Your crazy.

  4. Aww what the matter Amy too much for you wanna get them out of nappies FAST personally i think your a liar ..premmie twins potty trained at four months YOUR LIVING IN CUCKOO LAND !

  5. Hi There I say that 4 months old is way to young to start potty training, but it is upto you.

  6. i say to young but hey good luck with all that

  7. LOL i have looked through this 'girls' questions and answers i have never known a 'Mum' get things so wrong she gives advice to to other mothers and i have never seen so many Thumbs down GIVE UP GIRL go back to school ... finding being a mum to hard wanting to potty train OR according to you if they are NOT potty trained at an early age its slows their development ..where did you read that TEEN GIRL MAGAZINE !

  8. It's not too late but you better start soon. I recommend you put them on the potty when they have to pee or poo, hold them because they can't sit yet. It's easier to keep them in a reclining position. also, watch them not to miss the signs, although it's not a problem - they will cry if they get wet if they aren't used to being wet. Good luck :-)

  9. Are you really serious Amy ?

Four months old have you heard the expression Don't run before you can walk ?

Personally i think they are way to young and if YOU do not agree that's fine, they are four months old how will they get to the potty or can they walk as well and i'm not saying this to be funny ..can they tell you they need the toilet, i would wait till they can at least express their need too use the toilet, and at least get to the toilet by themselves my twin daughter was toilet trained by two and as you know Thomas has autism and still in nappies. all i can say is best of luck
