The u.s have more medals?

are they participating in more games than other countries. is that why they have more medals. china have more gold medals than the u.s. some countries don't participate in all the game event

Simple, US won more medals overall, they didn't participate more than anyone else.

Theoretically a country could have say 1 million participants but that does not guarantee you a medal. It comes down to if your good enough to get a medal.

Well, yes the us has the most medals but that's because the u.s. had the most athletes and many were good :P

The United States have more medals because they placed in the top 3 positions in more sports than China did.

China only wanted gold.  To them anything else is a lose.  So thats all they went after.  The US as more overall medals, which in my opion is better then more gold.  Any time you medal it is impressive.

well it depends what the athletes qualify for, obvs a country who sends 6 athletes to participate in track are gonna get less medals than a country who sends 200 athletes in various events and the US have the most medals but the reason they are second in the standings is because china has more golds!

Some countries don't participate in sports because they didn't qualify/they weren't good enough to make the team or whatever.

It doesn't matter how many athletes we have in the games but how well those athletes compete.

Why do people keep trying to take away our athletes' achievements? We did well; get over it!
