The UK National Lottery is completely real.

However, just like lotteries you may already be familiar with, you have to purchase a ticket to win it.  They don't just randomly issue prizes to random people all over the world.  That would likely upset the people who purchased a ticket.

"Yes sorry Mr. Smith, I know you purchased one hundred pounds worth of tickets this week, but we decided to give the jackpot to Suresh Maturenbed from Bombay, who has never purchased a ticket, but does happen to have a free email address at Yahoo!"

So yes it's real.  But if you were contacted about winnings, you didn't.  See an official link to their web site.

Nope......it's a scam.  There are so many out there.  If you didn't buy a ticket...you didn't win.

Not at all.  Don't bother.  Have been getting 10 emails a day for years from different scammers telling me how rich I am.

All you need to do is give us your credit card details to pay for the shipping.  Ha
