  1. First shot is not as important as the approach shot ... the one to get you on the green. So if the green is 300 metres away and you usually hit a slice into the trees with the big swings, use the 4 iron twice instead to get you within putting distance.

The aim of long putts is to get within 1 to 1.5 metres of the hole, so that the next one goes in. If you can cut down to 2 putts per green, you will really see your score getting better.

  2. The most important question ever posed to me about Golf - "what's the most important shot in golf ? "

answer - "the one you're about to hit"

  3. The aim is the same from before the first shot till the last shot. Really silly question IMO.

  4. to get into good position for your second shot.

  5. think about the next shot and the next shot only....because if you had a bad first shot and you dwell on your mistakes it will come back and bite you ...  just have fun as well but not too much to where you dont become serious anymore...  i used to have a problem with getting so mad about my first shot that it made all the rest of my shots bad because i was dwelling on my first shot .....  so I HOPE THIS HELPS :)

  6. To get the ball in the hole!!

  7. To hit the second shot properly and every one after that.
