The unbeaten, Certify and Ollie Olga, putting their record at stake in the Shadwell Fillies’ Mile with Frankie Dettori riding Amazonas
The £92,721 prize money, Group 1 Shadwell Fillies’ Mile will witness a bruise in the highly impeccable records of either of the two unbeaten fillies to date, the American filly, Ollie Olga and the Mahmood Al Zarooni trained, Certify, yet another American daughter. The last two editions of the race went to Godolphin, with Saeed Bin Suroor trained, White Moonstone in 2010, and then the Mahmood Al Zarooni conditioned, Lyric Of Light, last year.
Both the fillies rode in the capable hands of the genius of his profession jockey, Frankie Dettori.
This time Godolphin is being represented by, Certify, from Mahmood Al Zarooni’s stable, and the evening’s favourite will get paired up with the highly accomplished rider, Mickael Barzalona, while Frankie Dettori will ride with the 16 to 1 entry, Amazonas.
The confident connections shared:
"Certify did a nice, building piece of work on Saturday and she looks in good form at the moment. She showed that she is a good filly in the May Hill Stakes because she kicked off a slow pace”.
It looks like a tough race with some nice fillies in the field but I am hopeful of another good run."
Elusive Quality’s bay filly has already bagged two graded races and that too through the second and third outing of the career. The potential to come this far with just three outings speaks volumes of the untapped inbuilt talent that will reflect brightly with some more experience under her belt.
Against her is the 10 to 3 undefeated shot, the bay/brown filly, Ollie Olga. She too has three outings, but on scaled down levels, with only the last success with the graded company.
Channon said: "She's in great heart and we'll find out how good she is. I think she's very good and she's the type of filly who only does enough at home, but when she turns up at the races she's totally different. I think she'd go on any ground, but better ground suits her best. I think that's probably the case for most of them."
Certify’s racing profile is on the same lines as her Godolphin winning mates of the previous two seasons. She has been allotted the second trap, and has everything right in her favour, besides the winning jockeys of the last two editions, Frankie Dettori.
