  1. no, units always get there early so they can get moved in adn ready to go out, often that is a few months early

  2. Not necessarily.

Overlaps in tours are programed for units replacing others to allow for the new unit's adjustment.

Additionally, a unit with additional time remaining in the theater could easily be retasked to another location to help with other shortfalls.

I'm sure that you don't want to hear this, but at a macro level it makes good sense when considering the cost of moving units into and out of the theater.

My recommendation is to expect him to return on his original timeline, and should he come back earlier then it will be a pleasant surprise.

  3. probably not.  they still have to pass on the information they have learned to the unit taking over plus allow for the new unit to get acclimated.

  4. Again wit the negative ppl (all the other answers).. Remember wat u said "they are taking over" .. Same thing with my husband.. the unit is goin over there in December. So he is now coming home in December. maybe late december early january.. It depends bc they always change the dates around in the mth. But dont get too excited.. It always good to juss plan that he wont be coming home until his 15mths is up. U dont want to be disappointed and anything thing before that will juss be a big surprise!
