science gives the answer as to "HOW" and religion as to "WHY"[aim/purpose]

there is no clashing between both. at some points, apparent contradiction means we should keep up search for knowledge = invitation to seek for truth.

We don't know if h**l is part of our universe, since the Bible doesn't specifically state this, and often speaks in metaphorical language.

I believe that the Bible states (in its original language)  that God must be active in keeping it going. I would need to research that to find where. I have heard that taught. I believe Heaven and h**l are part of the universe, but in a different dimension. It is postulated that there are at least 6 other dimensions that are not released for us. We are in 4 of them.

The physical universe is made of matter and energy. Yes God does hold it all together. But Heaven and h**l are not part of the Physical universe or world. It is impossible to understand, and you can not use science to explain it.
