  1. I don't believe that the Universe is a sphere, at least not with a solid boundary.  It may very well be shaped like a sphere, but I don't think we would be going in a circle.  If it were possible for us to travel that far, I think we would just go on past the end of the Universe and see whether it is empty space, other universes, or what.

I realize that the current definition for universe is everything everywhere, but I expect that definition to change when we know more about what is past the universe that we are currently able to detect.

  2. Space travel is real, but relativistic speed is not possible, you would never have the time to navigate the universe.

  3. Send a self addressed stamped envelope for the answer.....

  4. My answer is a little strange.  To me, the Universe is by definition all we can see or percieve. And its our perceptions that create the shape of our universes. Because space is far bigger that we can conscieve of, our limitations create a shape to the universe.

If you could see the outside of what we see now, your universe would simply be bigger.  It would no longer be outside the Universe but just another part of it.

  5. that's a pretty interesting view on things

but the question would be that if the universe was really one big sphere like the earth, what is around it???
