Born on November 6, 1987 in the city of Belgrade, the former top ranked Serbian tennis ace Ana Ivanovic is currently listed as number sixty three in the world by the WTA rankings. The right handed Ana has won the Grand Slam French Open tournament back in 2008 as well as ended the next year’s French Open championship as a runner up. Moreover, the twenty two years old Ana also managed to reach the final of the hard court Australian Open competition back in 2008.
The 1.83 meters tall Ana, over the past few months, is struggling hard in terms of her performances. She has been a tennis star in her country for nearly a decade now. The Serbian started playing the game of tennis when she was just five years of age and later on developed herself as one of the greatest Serbian tennis players of all times. Ever since she was five years of age, Ana has been following Monica Seles as her biggest source of inspiration.
The Serbian has improved her style of game to a great deal of extent after turning pro back in 2003. She came to the limelight on the very first occasion back in 2004 during the month of October when she knocked down the former world number one American tennis ace, Venus Williams in her second round match in the Zurich Open championship. Later on, the Serbian made her way into the quarterfinal in Luxembourg in the next week.
Ana grabbed her very first trophy in 2005 in Australia that gave a new turn to her career. Three years later, the girl further became prominent when she knocked down Venus Williams in the quarter final clash of the hard court Australian Open tournament back in 2008. She got the better of Venus in a total of two sets with a final match score of 7-6(4), 6-4. Ana met the Russian tennis ace, Maria Sharapova in her final clash who defeated her with some excellent showcase of tennis.
The 2008 season turned out to be the most successful one for the Serbian tennis ace, Ana Ivanovic as the twenty two year old thrashed out a couple of prominent names including Elena Dementieva as well as Jelena Jankovic.  Ana reached the top of thw world rankings from the women’s side back in 2008 during the month of June after knocking down Jelena Jankovic in the semi final battle of the Grand Slam clay court French Open tournament and made her way into the final of the major event. In her final clash, Ana met Dinara Safina and successfully managed to grab her first major trophy after dismissing Dinara. Later on, Ana became a brand name in the world of tennis.
Afterwards Ana faced a lot of injuries as well as fitness problems including her knee and thumb injury which did not allow her to participate in a number of championships. Last year, during her grass court Grand Slam match against the American Venus Williams, the twenty two year old Ana felt extreme pain in her left thigh and started weeping on the court at the All England Club and therefore could not continue the match. This news was showcased by the media all around the world.
After recovering and making a return on the tour, the Serbian tennis ace, Ana Ivanovic registered a couple of wins at the WTA championships and looked pretty confident in recapturing her lost form. In her most recent performance at the grass court Grand slam tournament  this season, Ana was kicked out in the round number one by Sahar Peer, a thirteenth seeded player in straights sets.
