    And to watch hot guys compete!

  2. It helps bring the world together. Helping to forge bonds between the athletes that have the potential to be future country leaders.

  4. a way for countries to come together and totally ignore the awful c**p they are hurling at one another as they attempt to use the metaphor of sports to emphasize how they will ultimately defeat the other once the Olympics is over and everything returns to its ugly truth.

  6. Pretty much like the value of any sporting event at its core. It brings people together, and allows aggression (competition) without actual war. But on an international scale.

    A lot of sports actually did come around as a substitution for war (including training for war).
