I was just watching tv, and I couldn't hear anymore. I checked to see if it was on mute, but it wasn't. I popped in a dvd, and the sound worked just fine. What is wrong with my tv? Please help!

  1. Here's a few  random thoughts.

I don't know how you have your TV connected to the cable.  If it is with a coax into the Antenna connector, then check that the TV isn't set to SAP (Second Audio Program).  this will prevent you from hearing the main audio channel.

If your TV is connected with RCA cables, make sure they are still connected.

Also, some cable boxes have a volume control.  If you have a box with a remote control, try adjusting the volume from the remote and the MUTE is off.

Lastly, unplug the cable box count to 5 and plug it back in.  They are more computer than many people realize and sometimes they just need a good reboot.

    I hope this helps.

  2. One thing you may want to do is just make sure that every cable from your cable box to your TV is plugged in well and in the right places. Then, make sure that your cable box's volume is at its full (you may need to go to the cable box and do it manually form there).

If that doesn't work, just check your TV's sound settings on your TV's menu while you are watching cable. Just make sure that your TV isn't muted (what I am telling you is different from you pressing mute on the remote)

If that doesn't work, I would ask you to call the customer service of your cable company and/or your TV.
