Without external involvement, Russia would clean Georgia's clock, however the United States will attempt to negotiate a draw down and end this conflict.  

I do believe weapon shipments and supplying the Georgians are not out of the question however.

Russia will crush Georgia. The Europeans will just talk about Sanctions, and do nothing, and the US will stay out of EU affairs.

I am also betting that China sometime after the olympics will sting Taiwan. Taiwan, of course, stupid like georgia will try to escalate for world support.....

There are only 70,000 people living in South Ossetia, if they want to be part of Russia, let them.  Territorially Georgia won`t lose out too much.

Not only are they justified under international law, but they've got generation 5 fighter aircraft.  We and France are the only ones that could match that.  The Russian tanks aren't bad either, assuming they aren't sending the old, out of date models into Ossetia.

Let's hope that they both sit down and decide that peace is better than war.  There's enough war around the world as it is.

Russia is a terrible aggressor. They do everything to destroy Georgia and punish them for their pro-western course. This is all to stop it from joining NATO because they believe Georgia and other ex-ussr countries still "belong" to them. This is all happening in XXI century. That is what European appeasement brings.
