Question:

The water comes out the sides

It seems that the filter is bushy somehow.The water comes out the sides. Not through the small hole in the bottom of the filter (the down side ).the water comes out the sides. Not through the small hole in the bottom of this (down) filter. I tried a small brush to clean the filter but it did not help.Any ideas ?
