someone told me to try showering with low water volume (only a little bit of water coming out at a time) so the temperature will stay more stable. any more ideas?

  1. Are you in a house or an apartment.  If its your own house and you do not have other automatic watering devices that could be coming on, you likely have a worn out water heater(Symptoms are different for gas than electric).  If you are in an apartment you may be served by a community water heater.  The easiest solution in that case is to find the time of day when no one else is using water and take your shower then.  Or you could complain to the landlord, the community system is not large or hot enough to keep up with the load.  Or their water heater is going out.
