The water in our pool is cloudy. Also, there is kindaof a brown stain around the edge.?

Our chlorine and ph always test ok. If you're under water with a mask on and look up, it's very cloudy.

I'm thinking it's some mineral deposit, pehaps calcium.

when is the last time the water was changed it sounds like alge build up its the same thing that happens in a fish tank if you havent changed the water in a while it gets cloudy then greenish brown spots hope this helped

Water hardness is the culprit I suspect.  If not correct, mineral deposits will form.  Get a 5 way test kit from Sprawl-Mart.  This includes tests for hardness.  Follow the instructions to correct the problem.

Sounds more like iron than calcium . Go to your pool supplier and take a water sample they will test it tree and then recommend what to do to correct the problem. Most likely it will have to be shocked.Hope this helps. Good Luck.
