from my opinion, what i see is that land like approximately 42% while water are just 58%. i mean like, if u cut the globe in half and u divide 2 continent of earth (america,canada,mexico,sotuh-america by 1 continent) and in opposite by 1 continent and isolate them from the 2 semi-globe that already you cut. Try to imagine it and i wanna hear your oppinion.

  1. Keep in mind much of Antarctica is frozen over and the true land mass is less than it seems....also the north pole has very little land mass and is almost completely water....

what your forgetting is that a map is two dimensional, even a globe starts as a flat peice of paper.  If you ever take a GIS course you'll see that putting a spherical 3D object on a 2D peice of paper is impossible because you loose parts of what your looking at.  The globes and maps of the worlds arent 100% accurate and often dont have the right dimensions.  Tkae for example how close the lines of longitude and latitude are to one another as you move further from the equator (either north or south).  Again its a problem of preception, but it is a known fact to be a 70/30 split

  2. My opinion is that you are correct and all the "scientists" are wrong

  3. ok technically even though anartica is frozen it is water. that means about the lower 8th of the globe is water. it is like that up to the north, too. that would mean that that is about 1/4 of the planet.then the oceans, seas, lakes, and ponds would definitly acount the last 45% of the earth. and if the polar ice caps continue to melt, more of the planet will become water covered.

  4. You're forgetting about all the ponds, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, North and South poles (ice formed foundations), seas, and gulfs. There's a lot of water out there when you factor these in as well.
