The west didn't give a toss about Serbia and Russian complaints when they recognised Kosovo as independent ?

now the shoe is on the other foot with the Russians recognising south Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent, doesn't western foreign policy stink a bit of hypocrisy? Surely the best way to have proceeded was for the Russians to get out of Georgia, call in international peace keepers into South Ossetia and Abkhazia, then hold a referendum to determine their own futures. Surely we don't need a new cold war...just some common sense...don't we?

  1. You are so right, but will our politicians know that? Or the Russians', for that matter?

The British ones obviously don't, what with Miliband flying about like a blue-arsed fly, and my own (Irish) gouvernment will sing from any hymn-sheet they are given by the Americans, luckily they don't matter in the slightest..

  2. The reason is that the West prefer to see any other religion than Christianity holding sway.
