  1. Araafa, a grandson of Danzig, and great grandson of Nuryev on the dam side, ridden by Alan Munro, trained by Jeremy Noseda ...won 3 grade 1 stakes as a three year old (including the 2000 guineas in a very slow 149.8) and was retired this year...standing stud duty at Plantation stud in GBR

  2. Araafa

  4. ARAAFA won the Irish 2000 Guineas in 2006, after finishing 4th in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket behind George Washington.

He won 2 Group/Grade 1 races: the Irish 2,000 Guineas and the James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.  He placed second in the QEII Stakes, again behind George Washington.

He started his first season at stud earlier this year and is standing at Platation Stud in Newmarket at a fee of £15,000.  Funnily enough a friend of mine is his stallion man, and reports that he has taken to his new job well.
