The wireless keeps saying disabled..

the wireless keeps saying disabled.. it wont connect and it cant find the available networks.. there is no problem with the network cos it works fine on the ohter computers/laptops in the house and generally whereever i go it wont pick up the wireless networks.. i tried to enable it but it wont work.. when i turn the switch on the bluetooth turns on but not the wireless.. i tried to even reinstall the drives again but it still didnt work.. i even followed the instruction in the trouble shooting section and that still did nothing.. i got a few IT friends to try and figure out what is wrong with it.. one said either the switch doesnt work properly or basically hardware problem with the wireless.. the laptop is HP dv2000 range, special edition..
