The work environment changed for an insurance agent?

Since technology is changing quickly, how does the work environment and the process change in the future?

Technoology has not eliminated paper from most insurance offices - it seems to have increased it.

Also, larger insurers that have purchased other insurers find themselves dealing with several different databases to manage each book of business.  Apparantly it is very difficult to roll these databases into one.  Doing research for a client on a policy that they bought elsewhere can be difficult because of this.

But there are advantages - I bring my laptop, scanner, cell phone and digital camera with me and can work just about anywhere.  Which is very nice.

I would be interested in hearing how others are finding the technological changes!
