The world's going to end unless we invest into useless technology and give more funding to scientists?

Sound familiar? i'm a skeptic and why is AGW when described to me in a nutshell it sounds like the title of this question?

Nope.  If it sounds that way to you, you haven't studied it enough.

The data clearly proves that man made greenhouse gases are warming the planet.  And that, if we do nothing, the result will be extremely expensive coastal flooding, and damage to agriculture.  It's far cheaper to reduce it some.  This guy has it right:

Of course if you truly believe most all of the scientists around the world are lying about this, nothing will convince you.  Some people are firmly convinced the Earth is 6000 years old, and that we never went to the Moon.

But most all world leaders and now, even the majority of the US Senate, are convinced by the science, as Admiral Truly was.

Researchers want more more money for research because people really believe the world will end.

I do have a slight problem with the last part of your comment however.

Calling them scientists is demeaning to proper scientists!

Otherwise, I think that you have made a valid point.

Some of the people on this site who claim to be scientists, have no concept about proper science.

I was easily brainwashed in my younger days, but I now understand some basic science, and also know how 'media hype' and politics really  works!

It is actually somewhat embarrassing, when I think about some of my previously misguided beliefs when I was younger, but you learn from your mistakes!(Or at least you should)!

To listen to someone who claims to be a scientist, and they are only in their 20's, tells me that they have no credibility whatsoever!

Sorry about that last dig, but I feel that it is extremely valid!
