The world ending?

my big brother said the world will end because the sun is getting closer to earth and we are all going to burn to death.

is it true?

The earth really isn't getting closer to the sun, the sun is actually getting bigger.  Try to think of the universe as a big clock......For sake of argument lets say the sun was created at 7am (sunrise) and the sun will "die" at 7 pm (sunset).  Now,  Humans did not appear on the earth until about 11 am.  As of right now, the clock is only at 11:05 am.  Thats it.......Scientists believe that the sun is expanding at a rate that human life will be unable to live on earth around the 2 p.m. point.   So tell your brother that while he's right that we're going to eventually burn to death........we still have a while to go.

yes this is true . . . .not for billions of years and years though

the sun is actually a star so when the sun will eventually expand like all stars do it will bring the first 3 or 4 planets with it

but it wont happen in your lifetime so dont stress over it  ; )

Yes, it is true, but it won't happen for a few thousand years yet.   Actually, the Sun is not getting closer to the Earth, but it is swelling up into a Giant Star and its outer edges will engulf Earth in a few million years.

Do you believe everything you hear??  Your brother obviously does.  Scientists are the most smartest dumb people on the face of the earth.  If scientists said that, then there's the proof right there that they know alot less than they think they do.
