if you dont think the world is going to end in 2012 then ur crazy this almost happen thousands of years ago. dont u think the goverment and scientest shoud do something about this??

I think you are crazy for thinking the world will end in 2012.  Why do you think this?  Is it because the Asteck calender ends at 2012?  That ends there just because the guy making the calender got to 2012 when he said "I've been doing this for 20 years and am bored.  Time to get another hobby.  If someone would hurry up and invent a typewriter and paper, I'll write a science fiction book."

People have been predicting the world will end for many years.  The last one I remember was about the poles shifting on May 5, 2005.  I never noticed it happening.

i have to admit its a little bit nerve racking. but for over thousands of years people have been predicting when the world is going to end, and when that time comes, nothing happens. do you remember Y2K? i was laying on my couch falling asleep when the ball dropped. not freaking out because people where saying jesus was comming back. but if it is the end, well. there isnt anything we can do. so im not going to sweat it.

I am sure of it, but I am not afraid because I found the safest place on earth and I am already moving there.

The poles are just going to change, thats not so bad if you are near the equator, I think you can survive, volcanos will go off and the axis will change. Maybe it will cause an ice melt or maybe a big freeze.

In any case there is nothing to be afraid of if you are in the right place.

@ Sanggre Amihan: Looks like you've been reading the same websites I have :) You should have put up the source though, there is much more to it than what you quoted.

In short, the stars Antares and Betelgeuse, which both lie in Orion's shoulder, are both scheduled to Supernova within the next million years. As this is a BIG window of time, most people would likely think that it won't happen in our lifetime. But what if December 21st 2012 IS the date that one, or both, of the stars Supernova? Whatever the date, it could be catastrophic to Earth, but maybe not the end. The Earth would be bathed in light 24/7 for almost 6 months of the year, accelerating global warming, in turn killing off thousands of species of plants and animals, causing famine to most species.

Earth itself is due to flip magnetic poles, and most likely would disrupt thousands of birds, whales, bats, etc which use the Earth's magnetic currents for navigation, along with solar and star navigation, environmental cues etc. Even without the magnetic flip, most if not all animals would be confused and disoriented with the changes the Supernova/e will bring.

Do not be scared.  I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day.  Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700.  He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet.  Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.  

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia).  It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.

I heard plenty of times that the Mayans from Guatemala or somewhere close were kinda upset and annoyed that many people believed that in 2012, people were going to die. They said it was going to be a year of new change and they are pretty happy for when that day comes. I don't know, maybe we should listen to the people who's descendants created the calendar than people who just hear about it and don't really research it to the full extend. Just saying. I saw a couple a videos in youtube of interviews with Mayan Elders, but forgot what title...
