  1. Spiders in the world that have been linked to fatalities in humans, or have been shown to have potentially fatal bites by toxicology studies of their venom, include:

    The Australasian funnel-web spider

    The Brazilian wandering spider

    The recluse spiders

The six-eyed sand spider, and possibly other spiders of genus Sicarius

The widow spiders, including the Australian redback spider

--It is possibly the Black Widow spider, which is found on every continent except Antarctica.  Some people consider that Australasian funnel-web to be more dangerous than the Black Widow, because it produces venom with bites more frequently than the Black Widow (10 to 20 percent of the time).

  2. well actually according to Guinness Book of World Records 2007 the most venomous spider in the world is actually th brazilian wandering spider or the more common name banana spider.

they are very deady and up till 1996 no antivenom was created.

they often hide in bananas, and as i remember i heard a story from the local grocery store that found a frozen one in a banana box.

one funny thing to note on though, one of the effects of a bite from this spider is called priapism which is a very painful erection that lasts for hours. they are starting to use its venom to help with erectile disfunction

  3. Alex S is correct.  Australia's funnel web spider is the deadliest. The Black widow spider is also venomous.

Only the bite of the female, usually the adult female, is potentially dangerous. Although extremely painful and temporarily debilitating, fatalities from untreated widow bites are uncommon. During the period between 1926 to 1943, mortality ranged from 4 percent to 5 percent, but current medical treatments have reduced this to a much smaller incidence. Death usually results from respiratory paralysis. The very old, very young, and those with a history of high blood pressure (hypertensive) are at greatest risk. Prompt medical treatment can greatly reduce the danger from widow bites and has reduced fatalities to extremely low rates in recent years.

  4. The Sydney funnel-web spider (Atrax robustus), native to eastern Australia. There are other AustralAsian species of funnel-web spiders, but the Sydney is the most recognized. Please see below link for lots of detailed info. on toxicity.

  5. I heard it was the Funnel Web Spider of Australia. If you get bitten by that thing it makes you throw up and choke on it.
