The year you've separated or divorced, what did you do on what would had been your anniversary?

What would had been my wedding anniversary is coming up in a week or two, and I'm kind of sad about it all, even though I know I'm way better off without the idiot. I don't want to sit home and think back about the marriage on that day, it won't help, so..

What did you do on that day/evening? Anything "special"?

I didnt do anything.  By then I was just starting a new relationship with a much better man and so I was too concentrated on him and his family and my other kids from the first marriage.  I had moved on and never even thought about it at all to be honest.  I did however party the day my divorce was final!!  LOL!!

My wife was cheating on me so i celebrated the day she left. have never looked back, met some one else fell in love, re married and could not be happier.

I went out with my girlfriends and partied my a** off!  Probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do, but you can bet i wasn't thinkin about my ex with all the eye candy around!

Tossed my wedding ring in the lake and celebrated my freedom.

I got extremely depressed.  The breakup was the worst thing that's ever happened to me.  I felt like a complete failure as a man and a father, though nobody could have tried harder than I.

The first couple of years I went out with friends.  This past year, I thought about it a few days before but then didn't even think about it on that day.  It wil get easier with time.  Just don't put too much thought into it.

I allowed myself some s*x. It was mindblowing and well worth it. I also lost 80 lbs. after my divorce so it all worked out.

I celebrated, but that's just me.  My first husband was an abuser of many things, drugs, alcohol and me!!!   My divorce was a special occasion and cause to celebrate.

It was definitely a difficult time.  I am sorry you are in this position.  I went out with my best girlfriend.  That helped.

i am pretty sure i had mad s*x with my new man!!! LOL... no, i did not cheat... i met him after i was divorced!!! but my ex was abusive and my current fiance is a gem!!! so, it was great cause we celebrate all kinds of occasions now, the anniversaries we both became single again, our anniversary, the anniversary of the day we met, the day he asked me out, the day i met the kids, the day he proposed... its a time to rejoice!!!
