  3. She has expressed an interest in learning Greek and has renewed her Greek passport. She also hopes to be on the Greek equestrian team at the next Olympics. Lately, as Onassis de Miranda's interest in competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics grew, the couple announced that they would return to Belgium to train following their honeymoon.

The Mirandas have since been training with Nelson Pessoa in Belgium.

  4. She married her much older boyfriend(Alvaro Alonso de Miranda Neto ) two years ago and they continue to compete in equestrian competitions around the world. She manages to guard her private life quite well.

There is a thread dedicated to Athena at http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums in the Celebrity Chit-Chat Section. She is occasionally mentioned in the magazines Paris Match and Point de Vue,and Hello. Here is an article from Hello:

"Romance continues to flourish for Athina and her husband Doda 4 DECEMBER 2007

It's been two years since Athina Onassis de Miranda and Alvaro Alfonso de Miranda Neto danced till dawn after tying the knot during a romantic ceremony in Brazil, and the couple clearly remain besotted with each other.

The 22-year-old shipping heiress and her husband found time for a little romance - sharing a kiss - while preparing for a show jumping event in Paris. The touching moment came just two days before the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary on December 3.

Athena - herself a keen rider - is regularly on hand to support her other half, who is known by his nickname Doda, when he competes in equestrian events around the globe. According to reports, she even splashed out $2.5 million on the purchase of his horse Picolien Zeldenrust, which he is training on in preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Their shared passion for all things equestrian is just one of the interests upon which their bond is based. Another key factor is Athena's closeness to her seven-year-old stepdaughter Viviane, Doda's child from a former marriage. Since she married 34-year-old Doda, Athina and Viviane have become increasingly close - their easy rapport emphasised by the youngster nestling cosily in her stepmum's lap at sporting events."

  5. She married in 2005 and hopes to join the Greek equestrian team at the next Olympics

  6. She was married in 2005 and currently lives in Brazil with her husband, Alvaro Miranda Neto.  She now goes by Athina Onassis de Miranda, and is an accomplished competitive show jumper who hopes to be on the Greek Olympic team.  There has been quite a bit of contention over her ownership of the Onassis Foundation, which is an ongoing dispute, but either way, she is still a very, very rich young woman.

She recently caused a bit of a stir in October when she visited Greece for a horse show in memory of her mother, Christina (for only the second time in 5 years) and didn't know a word of Greek and didn't visit Skorpios, Aristotle's legendary island. Many Greeks find her attitude of indifference towards Greece to be insulting, considering her heritage.

She was not automatically named president of the Onassis Foundation when she turned 21 as she had expected. The Foundation has indicated that, as she has shown no interest in Greece or Greek affairs, she would be a poor choice to lead an inherently Greek organization and refused to name her president, which, according to some interpretations, is directly against Onassis' instructions regarding the administration of the Foundation.  They'll be in court for a long time.  However, she has already inherited over $600 million from her mother apart from the Foundation, so she's not exactly starving.
