  1. Your best bet is to get to the library and find a book of monologues for teens.  If you know what character you are auditioning for, try to find a monologue that shows similar characteristics.  Just practice your piece as much as you can, but don't freak out about it.  Do you best to memorize your lines but if you forget anything think about the story and what likely comes next, then move on.

When it's your turn, stand on stage, slate your name then introduce your piece unless they tell you to do it differently "Hi, my name is Suzy Jones and I will be performing a monologue from Little Women" or something to that effect.  Then you bow your head for a second and when you are rady to begin you look up, in character and start.  When you are done, you bow your head again just like when you started and they will know that you're finished.  Just for a second or two, then you look up and smile brightly.  They will thank you for auditioning and you will leave the stage or be directed otherwise.

    best of luck,

    Marianne
