Theatrical Star marginally preferred in Racing Welfare Jonny Brown Novices´ Chase at Exeter
Keppols Hill narrowly missed the glory on his latest start at Ffos Las, where he finished second to Makethe Mostofnow just by a short head’s distance. The Paul Nicholls-trained is likely to be popular in the market, but one should not trust him blindly.
Theatrical Star, on his latest start at Exeter, gave an impression that there is more to come from his side. Over an inadequate two miles and one furlong, Colin Tizzard’s charge was third behind a couple of strong runners.
Open to further improvement, Theatrical Star is marginally preferred in Racing Welfare Jonny Brown Novices´ Chase, being held at Exeter on Wednesday, November 14th. As per the plan, the class 3 clash will be started at 14:40 GMT.
Theatrical Star went on vacations after doing well at Newbury. On his penultimate outing, the son of King’s Theatre was third behind Benbens. After a long break, the maverick runner returned in style, and shared the podium here last time.
In the hands of Joe Tizzard, he led initially, but soon lost his advantage. He tracked the leading runners in the middle stages, but failed to show a strong finish. Staying on one pace in the final moments did not help his cause and as a result, he fell
third in the list.
His last act had plenty of impressive things. Considering his latest fine act, one can easily expect him to show more improvement. His major task will be to tackle Keppols Hill, who has showed three wonderful performances so far. The son of Indian Danehill
reached England after two classy acts. He is showing continuous improvement, and will be one of the leading contenders.
Besides these two, Talkonthestreet is making some appeal. The 5-year-old trainee of Philip Hobbs was fourth on his recent seasonal comeback. The bay gelding sealed a couple of good wins early in the year.
On Exeter’s good to soft three miles, eight contestants, including the abovementioned trio, will search a prize of £5,507. All the participants are talented, but the real battle will be only among Keppols Hill, Talkonthestreet and Theatrical Star, with the
marginal preference for the third-named. Good luck to all the horses.
