  1. the botanical gardens would be a good place...as well as Wonderland or Koala Zoo

  2. catch a train down south to jervis bay, go for a dolphin watch cruise

  3. Disguise yourselves as catholics and go and watch the atheists being arrested.

  4. maybe it's a great time to consider visiting Vatican City?

  5. Cinema

    Shopping centre

    McDonalds

    Local park

Go for a drive to a beach on the north side

Go to Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed

  6. Your best bet is to go to canberra. Roughly a 3 hour trip by car or less than an hour by plane though there is loads to do there. There are really great places to eat, places to visit (questacon, canberra tower), and its just a beautiful city in general. For lunch you can let your kids loose and run around on the green grass surrounding the river, if they have not dropped dead tired by then.

Stay there at least 2 days if possible, though if you go for one day, obviously leave early and leave late, your kids will be fast asleep on way home :-).

Canberra is your best bet, it is worth the drive down. If you really cant be bothered go to the blue mountains, im sure thats a close trip for you. Else you could try wollongong.

    Hope that really helps :-)

  7. Is it completely inaccessible? Bugger I wanted to go into the city this weekend.

If you have access to a car, how about driving up North and visiting the Australian Reptile Park, which is located at Somersby on Sydney's Central Coast.

It is really good, I love it and I don’t even have kids. Loads of space to run around in, loads of animals to see and even touch.

Otherwise, how about a trip to the Blue Mountains – maybe the Three Sisters, Cable Car and Scenic Train.

The train is meant to one of the steepest inclines in the world – scares the s**t out of me but kids seem to love it. You could all then have lunch at a nice deli or café in Katoomba or Leura.

I found this “Top Things to do in Sydney” website the other day, it may come in use for you too. Goes from Top 5 to Top 140:
