It will be very small. He is going through a divorce w/ my mom. He likes classic rock. He is in construction. He loves computers. He was sorta hippy like back in the days.

Any suggestions?

  1. Then you definitely want to do a "hippy" theme, from the early 70's ....  Bright neon colors (paper plates & decorations are easy to find in a craft store/ Walmart, or wherever they sell patio decorations - and they'll be on sale now - Hobby Lobby has lots of great stuff) ......Play the music he loves:  CCR, Doors, Cream, Hendrix & Joplin, Iron Butterfly, etc.....   But, you could still serve chips, nuts, etc. in construction hats (as bowls).  Just do a simple "man-food" BBQ:  sausages & burgers;  potato casserole, coleslaw, fruit salad - brownies & pie for dessert

  2. Hippy theme...remember, Woodstock? Plus the music would be from the mid to late 50s (Elvis & others) as well as definitely all classic rock from the 60s. Love beads, long wild hair, tanborines, black lights w/ the light up posters, etc....he'll love that! Best of luck!

  3. How about a 70s theme. Or his favorite rock group? You could have a lot of fun with the whole 70s era. Nice of you to do this for him, have a great time

  4. Have him a bar-b-que and play some classic rock that he would enjoy. The theme could be a birthday bar-b-que.

  5. Hippy party or rockstar party

  6. cars? Like a good old fashioned Jag or Merc.

Maybe James Bond? Or just like u said classic rock?

  7. hippie theme

    u will need:

    costumes

    music

    hookas

big pillows to sit on the floor and smoke

no limo for your dad, he can arrive in a big old van haha

if a friend play the guitar that would be great

food nothing fancy, and better if they dont have to use utensils to eat!

  8. pirate theme. dads love that campy stuff.

  9. I would go to a nice restaurant and have a nice dinner.  And have an "Elvis" impersonator drop by.  Classic Rock . . Elvis!!!  Just make sure it's a decent "Elvis".  Not sure where you are from, if the Boston area check out www.elvisofboston.com  Everybody enjoys Elvis so it would be something for everyone to have fun with.
