  1. Old Hollywood Glamour!

    - black and white photographs of marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn (available at target!), James Dean, etc.

    - take off your closet doors and hang rich velvety curtains

    - use mirrors as accessories

    - hang a small crystal chandelier from your main light fixture

    Relaxation Haven

    - use soft neutral colors

    - specify an area for a big comfy chair and tropical/exotic plant

    - use lower wattage lightbulbs to give the room a softer feel

    - Hang beige curtains at the ceiling ... it makes your room appear much taller than it is!

    Spanish Haven

    - bright, bold colors! Yellow, Orange, Red, Green! Think the inside of a Chevy's or Don Pablo's restaurant.

    - Hang mosquito netting over your bed!

    - Get a fake palm (there are nice ones at Michaels, JoAnne Fabrics, World Market, etc.)

If you're within driving distance to Ikea, I would DEFINITELY check that out! The accessories are SUPER cheap and will update your space :) They have pretty wavy glass vases for $1 in a dozen bright colors! Lots of votive holders and fancy shaped mirrors.

www.ikea.com has a TON of room example ideas. Look on their 'youth bedroom' products page. Don't be fooled by the category! It isn't kids stuff, all the ideas are really cool!

  2. well what kind of things are you into? Are you a fan of High School Musical or any other artist that you might wanna include a poster? What colors do you like? Most 15 year old are into pink but keep one wall free to make a graffiti by themselves or ask friends to come over and help her with that. Do you like those alien lamps, i've seen most kids love them!

Try to keep it simple though you don't wanna get lots of things and after a year or 2 get rid of them that's a waste of money!

  3. i personally have old records on a lite blue wall and i made this like curtain thing with cds. dividing off a little hall in my room. it sorta looks like this but way cooler and hanging from the ceiling. so basically a music theme.

  4. how about a paris theme? You know, dark red walls, back and white pictures, kinda elegant it looks beatiful! Trust me!

  5. You should really tell us what you'd like or what you like now. Otherwise it won't be easy, but here are some ideas:

Sophisticated: I think if you like sophisticated style, you can paint your walls a nice soft brown or tan, with a red or another deep colored backwall. You can also get a nice plain bedding.

Fun: If you like fun colors, try bright ones like yellow, green, pink or purple. You can choose a funky bedspread with all sorts of patterns and etc.

Bohemian: If you like boho stuff (like me!) you can try a deep or hot color wall, like hot pink, purple, or jsut brown with a fun patterned bedspread with matching pillows. You can also get some fun wall hangings

Pastel: If you like pastel stuff, try soft colors like baby blue, pink, purple or yellow, with a colorful pastel bedspread.

    That's all I got.

  8. When I was 15, I redecorated my room with a beach theme. It was awesome. I bought a huge mural of a beach with the ocean, and put it on the wall behind my bed. I painted the rest of my walls with light blue and light yellow. Then I put very light colored hardwood floor in, to imitate sand. My bed posts were made out of tiki torches and my headboard was 2 surfboards put together. My desk was made out of the same material as they use for those like little surf shacks. I had a surfboard carpet. I really liked it. What you could do to make it so when you get bored of it, you could paint the wall with the mural with the same colors as your other walls, and then when you don't want it anymore, just take down the mural. Or keep the paint so you can paint it later.
