Her birthday is in August and it is tradition here in Hawaii to throw a big first birthday party. Although I am well aware that she won't remember, I still would want people to enjoy it. So any ideas anyone?

  1. princess party.

  2. I had a beach theme for my first birthday.  I dont remember but my mom said it was the perfect party because while i layed around looking cute adults were enjoying themselves at the beach.  And Hawaii has the coolest beaches so what could be better?

  3. Beach theme in hawaii is too generic, do like The Little Mermaid theme if you still want to tie the ocean into the party.

  4. What's your daughter's name?  A girl from my work has a little girl and she just had her first, they had "Lola's First Luau" it was pretty cute.  Maybe you can thing of a theme with the same letter as her first name.  R's first Rodeo or Rave....or B's first BBQ....something like that.

  5. You should use "1st birthday" decorations, because it will be the first and only time that she will be 1.

For my daughter's 1st birthday a few months ago, I dressed her in a pink first birthday girl leotard and ballet tutu (toys r us) and princess crown. I found a ballerina Dora the exporer (small doll at wallmart) as a cake topper that looked just like her. At first I wasn't sure that the 1st birthday stuff + Dora would work but it all came out really cute!

Whatever you choose be creative and find a way to tie in her favorite character or thing to do. Good Luck!

  6. Lilo and stich is a hawaii based cartoon and kids love it especially girls, your daughter will be very entertained by a stitch cake
