Themes for son's 1st birthday?

My son's 1st birthday is coming up in a little over a month, and I've been racking my brain for the 'perfect' idea.

I love going all out with themes, and can get creative with cakes (intermediate, not advanced). Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

  1. Bob the builder! and have a great cake, and toy cars...and let him wear a yellow helmet!....and for the rest who come at he party. They'll surely enjoy it. Hope this helps and take care.

  2. thomas the engine is cool

    winnie the pooh is cute

    go diego, is adventurous

  3. Blues Clues is cute or a Cars (the movie) theme would be too and it's more boyish so he wont look back when he's older and think it's embarrassing. lol

  4. Monkeys for little boys are so cute! And it's easy to find stuff for a party. Or jungle animals theme! Its so adorable!

  5. Maybe...

    Outerspace

    Cowboys

    Dinosaurs

    Zoo Animals... with animal crackers

    Bugs

    Sailboats

    Nursery Rhymes

    Pirates

    Legos

Book Theme... from his favorite book

    Monsters

  6. I think polk-a-dots are very adorable for a baby's first.  You can just do a white cake icing, and then use the tube to make round dots with red, blue, and yellow icing.  You can get plates, forks, napkins, and streamers with the same colors rather easily.

    Good Luck

  7. WINNIE THE POOH...SPONGEBOB......=-} IDK THEY'RE BOTH REALLY CUTE=-}

  8. you should go on playhouse disney and get ideas from there thats what i did for my neace! and plus tell us if its a girl or a boy!

  9. Hi - we had my son's 1st birthday at home.  We invited 18 people total (including 4 kids).  We had a lot of prepared food (stuff frozen from costco that you just need to heat up):  pizza, dino nuggets for kids, chimichangas and other finger foods.  We freshly made salsa and guacamole for dipping.  We did not have a 'theme' as I thought that was a waste of money.  But we did get birthday hats, birthday plates etc.  For the cake, we got my son his OWN cake and let him go to town.  He wasn't sure what to do at first but then loved it - it was really fun to watch.

    Have fun!
